Holiday Season, and a Happy New Year

It has been a busy few weeks for our family. The Christmas cards went out in the mail.

Then we took an airplane ride out to DC to do a little house hunting, and get Mom into her new office.  Everyone at the new hotel has already adopted Evan as the new mascot, and he sure knows how to turn on the charm.

While Mom worked, Evan and Dad went out into the cold to explore.

Santa was kind enough to bring Evan a new warm coat a few weeks early this year... (thanks Grandma!) He looks so grown up.

When we got back to Arizona, it was just in time to visit Santa.  The first attempt did not go to well, but the second time Evan cooperated as long as it was Mom sitting on Santa's lap, and Evan was more than a foot away.

Then it was time to fly to Covina to see (great) Grandma Doris and a few of his cousins and second-cousins, and the rest of the family.  His cousin Brianna spent 2 full days walking Evan all over the house. Thank goodness because it gave our backs some time to rest.

It wouldn't be Christmas without some good wine (courtesy of Erik), good food, and lots of laughs.

Then it was time to say good-bye, Mom left to go back to DC, and Jody and Evan stayed on the West Coast to entertain themselves for the new year.  So I am sure the next post will be more than amusing...

Especially if Evan figures out the doggie door...

May 2012 bring as much joy and excitement as this year.  Happy New Year to all.
